以前腕時計の日付機能について書かせていただきましたが今回はその他の複雑機構について書きたいと思います。

複雑機構の腕時計は英語でComplication watchesとなりますがコンプリケーションと言えば時計好きの方なら聞いた事がある言葉と思います

複雑機構もいくつか種類がありますが今回は「トゥールビヨン」について説明します

簡単に言いますと写真に写っている金の輪の部分が１分間に１回転して時計が受ける重力の影響を均等にする機能です

なんこっちゃですよね

普通に秒針も１分で１周するので普通の時計と変わらない気もしますが「トゥールビヨン」で１周しているのは「脱進器」と呼ばれる部分です

「脱進器」はゼンマイの力を時を刻む振動に変える部分で時計の心臓部ともいえる場所です、大まかに言うと振り子の仕組みを小さく高性能にした物になります

ここの動きで正確に時を刻めるかが決まるのですが柱時計と違って腕時計は一定の姿勢をしていないので時計の向きによって受ける重力の影響が変わってしまします

なので機械式の腕時計は９時側を下にするか３時側を下にするかでも進み、遅れが変わってしまします

それを「姿勢差」と言って通常の時計は各姿勢差のバランスを取って誤差を小さくします

そこで「トゥールビヨン」は「脱進器」を回転させちゃえば姿勢差がなくなるやん！

との考えから作られた機構なんです・・・・

まあ姿勢差を軽減するだけなので日差が飛躍的に良くなる事は無いので複雑さの割にメリットの少ない機構とは言えますが・・・・

いや「トゥールビヨン」にはもう一つ素晴らしい部分があります！！！

The second hand also rotates once a minute, so it may seem like it's no different from a regular watch, but in a tourbillon, the part that rotates once a minute is called the escapement.

The escapement is the part that converts the power of the mainspring into the vibrations that make the time tick, and it is the heart of the watch.

Unlike a pillar clock, a wristwatch is not in a fixed position, so the effect of gravity on the watch changes depending on its orientation.

Therefore, a mechanical watch advances or delays depending on whether it is set at 9 o'clock or 3 o'clock.

This is called “attitude difference”, and a normal watch balances each attitude difference to reduce the error.

Then, the tourbillon was created based on the idea that if you rotate the escapement, there will be no posture difference!

Well, it is a mechanism with little merit for its complexity, since it only reduces the attitude difference and does not drastically improve the day difference. ・・・・
